We assist with a broad range of documentation requests beyond standard certificates. Most can be prepared at or shortly after your consultation. Insurance reports and detailed medical summaries may require 3–5 working days.
Professional Obligation
All documentation is issued by a registered medical practitioner. Certificates and reports reflect findings at the time of examination and cannot be backdated. This applies without exception.

Clinical
Certificates confirming medical grounds for absence from work or school, issued for the appropriate period based on clinical assessment. A sick leave certificate can only be issued on the day of the examination, and covers from that date forward. It cannot be backdated to cover days before the appointment.
Written medical opinions confirming fitness to resume employment or specific duties following illness, surgery, or injury. Includes any relevant work restrictions or accommodations. Issued same day following examination.
Medical letters for airlines, cruise lines, or insurers confirming fitness to travel, including documentation of any in-flight medical equipment requirements (supplemental oxygen, CPAP, etc.) or special assistance needs. Also used for travel insurance claims relating to medical conditions.
Medical letters for sports participation, physical education exemption, school accommodation requests (extended time, rest arrangements), exam deferral, and similar academic purposes. We are experienced with Hong Kong international school documentation requirements.
Medical fitness assessment and clearance letter prior to elective surgery or anaesthesia. Includes review of current medications, relevant investigations, and assessment of cardiovascular and respiratory fitness. Issued in the format required by the receiving specialist or hospital.
Structured referral letters to specialists, allied health professionals, and other healthcare providers — including relevant clinical history, investigation results, current medications, and the specific reason for referral. We are happy to discuss which specialist is most appropriate for your needs.
Physical examination and health certificate for primary or secondary school admission. Includes hearing, vision, growth, and general health assessment, plus completion of the required government form. Please bring the specific form issued by the school.
Medical examination and certificate required for domestic helper visa applications under Immigration Department requirements. Covers general physical health, specified investigations, and completion of the Immigration Department form. Bring valid passport and the relevant form.
Medical fitness certificate for security personnel licence applications under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance. Confirms fitness to perform security duties. Bring your HKID and the specific licence application form.
Medical examination and completion of Transport Department form (DTMD 31 or applicable form) for professional driving licence applications and renewals. Includes vision testing, cardiovascular assessment, and general fitness evaluation. Bring your HKID and the relevant Transport Department form.

Attend the examination
Bring valid photo ID (HKID or passport) and any existing medical records relevant to the documentation required. The doctor conducts the examination and completes the required assessment. Most appointments take 15–30 minutes.

Receive your documentation
Most certificates are issued the same day. Reports requiring additional investigations or detailed write-up are ready within 3–5 working days. If you have a deadline, let us know in advance and we will accommodate it where clinically appropriate.

common questions
Sick leave certificates cover the period of medical absence and can only be issued after a clinical examination. We cannot backdate certificates, and cannot issue a certificate for days that were not clinically assessed. If you have already recovered, we can certify your current fitness to return to work, but cannot retrospectively certify past illness without an examination at the time.
Always bring a valid photo ID (HKID or passport). Bring the specific form if you have it — for school admission, domestic helper, Transport Department, or other government forms. Any relevant existing medical records are also helpful.
Standard insurance reports typically take 3–5 working days after the consultation. Complex or lengthy reports may take longer. Additional charges may apply for detailed reports. Please advise us in advance of any insurance deadlines.
We can assist with most standard government medical forms within the scope of general practice. Some specialist forms — for example those requiring cardiology, psychiatry, or ophthalmology sign-off — may require referral to a specialist. If you are unsure, contact us in advance and we will confirm.
Yes. We can provide printed vaccination records and summary letters for travel, school, or employment purposes — based on the records held in your clinic file. If you have existing vaccination records from another clinic, please bring them so we can include them.
